The information contained in this Map details the survey traverses of Surveyors Evans and McBrien over the Blue Mountains. The position of the traverses as shown on the Map was compiled from information held at the NSW Department of Land & Water Conservation and Blue Mountains City Council. This information was coordinated by surveyors at the Roads & Traffic Authority NSW and plotted utilising a modern coordinate framework.

These traverses, whilst believed to be similar in many respects to the Road constructed by William Cox, cannot be construed to be the absolute route of Cox's 1814 Road over the Blue Mountains. To the Authority's knowledge, no survey of Cox's road formation was ever undertaken.

Whilst all due care has been taken in the production of this Map, the Authority has no control over the accuracy of the base data and cannot guarantee that the Map is without flaw or omission. The Roads and Traffic Authority NSW therefore expressly disclaims all liability for errors or omissions of any kind whatsoever or for any loss, damage or other consequence which may arise from any person relying on this Map.
