 Members are encouraged to take part in the varied activities of the Society.

 General Activities

Members are invited to:
  • Research history 
  • Catalogue documents and artifacts held by the Society 
  • Maintain the Society's buildings and grounds 
  • Cater at meetings and open days
  • Guide visitors through Tarella on open days 
  • Or simply join in the good fellowship with other members.

 Meetings

Monthly meetings are held at Hobby's Reach on the first Saturday of each month (except January), at 10:30am, when there is a guest speaker. Tea and coffee is served from 10am. Members are invited to bring their lunch for a friendly get-together after the meeting.

 Excursions

Monthly excursions to places of historical interest, usually in the Blue Mountains but occasionally further afield, are held on the second Monday in most months.

 Newsletter

Hobby's Outreach, published bi-monthly, keeps members advised of coming speakers and activities.

 Research Centre

The Society has extensive reference and lending libraries.
The Research Centre, with wheelchair access, holds over 10,000 records of people, places and events in the Blue Mountains, and over 5,000 historic photographs.
