| Annual Dance The annual Wild Dogs Dance was very successful with more than 60 people attending. Samantha Rankins did an excellent job in catering for so many hungry doggies. It was good to see so many old familiar faces. The canyons went off without a hitch although there was a rescue in Whungee Wheenge canyon. A female member of the Central Coast Venturer Scout Group broke her leg whilst doing a water jump. The leader forgot to check for rocks or ledges in the pool she was jumping into. A helicopter was summoned to winch the girl out. Whungee Wheenge Canyon was very busy including a party from Outland which was lead by two former Japara members -Tony Williams and Ron Van Grootel. Outland Expeditions are forging closer links to Wild dogs offering their excellent advanced courses at very good discount rates. In return our leaders are now getting work with Outland as trip guides. |

| Coffs Harbour Canyon Pilgrimage The Doggies have just returned from canyon pilgrimage to the Coffs Harbour Canyons. We enjoyed three canyons which were par excellence. These canyons proved to be the toughest yet tackled by the Doggies. A prominent feature of the canyons are numerous 50 metre waterfall abseils . Most required a high degree of skill to negotiate the pounding water and slippery conditions. The canyons are not for the faint hearted and are no place for beginners. Although we experienced a few scarey moments all canyons were completed without incident. Not one rope was cut and not one rope got stuck. At the end of the trip, Mongrel Dog remarked that the Doggies are the best. But we all knew that. Photos of Coffs Harbour adventure below. Gossip Not much to report from the desk of the gossip monger. If you are into frog spotting Alison Curtin is again available to offer her services. Krusty (Hi, I am from Blacktown), Wendy and Wendys parents spent ten days together on a house boat at Port Stephens. Rumour has it that Wendy gave her parents a limited edition manual on how to appreciate the Blacktown born and bred sense of humour. Apparently it proved to be compulsory reading. Good on you Krusty !!! |
