Happy travellers in the mountains
Penrith Press 20 June 2007
Extra carriages have been added to Blue Mountains trains to cope with growing demand.
The "Chips" service has been extended to Lithgow, while 11 four-car services have been increased to six carriages.
Two weekend services will be reduced from six to four carriages.
"Adding extra carriages to these 11 services will increase capacity on the Blue Mountains Line, including in peak times," Transport Minister John Watkins said.
Blue Mountains State Labor MP Phil Koperberg said commuters would appreciate the extra comfort when the new outer suburban cars enter service.
